About this product

The CORE Padded Oversized Round Chair is the saucer-shaped chair people end up fighting over at the campsite. The quilted 600D brushed polyester seat wraps around you, a padded headrest supports your neck, and the round frame gives you room to shift position instead of sitting bolt upright for three hours.

Underneath is a powder-coated steel frame in three tube gauges, rated to 300 lbs (136 kg). It folds down to a long, thin bundle and travels in the included carry bag.

Good to know

Is it hot to sit in, given how much it wraps around you?

It is a padded chair, so it holds more heat than a mesh one. In Dar es Salaam it is at its best in the evening, in shade, or under a canopy. If you want a chair for midday sun, the CORE Mesh Quad or Mesh Hard Arm Chair breathes far better.

How much weight does it hold?

CORE rates the frame at 300 lbs (136 kg).

Is it hard to get out of?

Less than it looks. The seat sits 20.5 in (52 cm) off the ground, which is higher than most camp chairs, so you are rising from close to normal chair height rather than off the floor. There are no armrests to push against, though.

Will it fit in a car?

Folded it is 112 x 20 x 20 cm - a long thin tube that lies across a boot or behind the rear seats. It is longer than a standard quad chair, so measure your boot if you are packing several.

Can I leave it on the balcony?

Under cover, yes. In direct sun and rain, no. Constant UV fades the polyester and standing water will sit in the quilted seat and grow mildew. Fold it into its bag if it will be unused for a while.

How do I clean it?

Brush off loose dirt, then sponge the fabric with mild soap and fresh water and let it dry fully open. Do not machine wash it - the quilted fill holds water and takes days to dry.

Is the headrest removable?

No, it is attached as part of the seat.
