The two-gear mechanism is the whole point of this chair. Set it low at 25.6 in (65 cm) for a beach, a fire circle or anywhere you want to be closer to the ground, or high at 31.9 in (81 cm) when you are sitting at a table, pitched on uneven ground, or simply want an easier stand-up. One chair, two seat heights, changed in seconds.
The frame is high-strength aluminium alloy and the seat is 600D Oxford cloth, a heavier weave than the fabric on a budget camp chair and the reason this one takes being dragged across gravel and packed away damp. Between them they carry up to 265 lbs (120 kg) while the whole chair weighs 3 lbs (1.35 kg).
Folded it measures 18.1 in x 5.5 in x 5.5 in (46 x 14 x 14 cm) and slides into the storage bag supplied, short enough to strap to a daypack rather than fill one. The dark coffee colourway hides the dust and the coffee rings that a pale seat will not.
