This is a small nylon sling worn diagonally across the chest, or dropped onto one shoulder if you prefer it at hip height. It holds a phone, a wallet, keys, a power bank and not a great deal more – which is exactly the point. It is for the things you want on you, rather than the things you are carrying somewhere.
The practical case for wearing a bag on your front is the same in Dar es Salaam as anywhere: what you can see is harder to reach into than what is on your back or in a rear trouser pocket. It is not a security device, and we are not selling it as one. It just puts your valuables where you would keep an eye on them anyway.
Nylon sheds a shower and dries quickly, which matters in a climate that produces both sudden rain and constant humidity. It is water-resistant rather than waterproof – the zips are not sealed, so if a phone must stay dry in a real downpour, it wants a plastic bag around it.
A note on the size we have been given. The supplier lists 20 x 2 x 32 cm, and a bag 2 cm deep would hold nothing at all – that figure is wrong somewhere. We are measuring the stock ourselves and will correct the table rather than repeat a number we can see is impossible.

Do you deliver in Dar es Salaam?

Yes. We deliver across Dar es Salaam and ship countrywide to Arusha, Mwanza, Dodoma, Mbeya, Zanzibar and the rest of Tanzania.

Is it waterproof?

Water-resistant, which is not the same thing. The fabric sheds a shower and a splash. The zips are not sealed and the seams are not taped, so a Dar es Salaam downpour in April will get in if you stand in it long enough. Anything that must stay dry goes in a plastic bag inside.

Do anti-theft features actually work?

They raise the effort, which is the honest claim. Hidden zips and a lock stop a hand reaching in while you are distracted in a crowd or on a daladala. They will not stop someone who takes the whole bag. Worn on the chest and in front of you, a bag like this is genuinely harder to work than a back pocket - that is the real benefit.

Will a laptop fit?

Will it go mouldy in this humidity?

It can, if it is put away damp. Nylon and oxford fabric do not rot, but the coating and anything organic inside will grow mould in a closed cupboard on the coast. Empty it, let it dry in moving air, and store it somewhere that breathes.

How do I clean it?

Wipe it with a damp cloth and mild soap and let it dry out of direct sun. Do not machine wash it - the tumbling destroys the coating and any electronics pass-through, and the padding never dries evenly.
