A dome tent of the same nominal size loses most of its edge space to curving walls. This one does not. The walls rise almost vertically off a steel frame, so the 10 ft x 9 ft floor is floor you can use, and at 76 in most adults stand without stooping. Six people sleep on it at the industry rating. Three people plus their gear live in it without stepping on each other.
Steel poles are the reason it holds that shape. A tall flat wall catches far more wind than a curved one, and fiberglass flexes where steel does not. Over the top sits an H2O Block rainfly, factory taped, over 68D polyester treated to 1200 mm with the seams sealed.
The ceiling is a panoramic mesh panel, so on a dry night you can drop the fly and look straight up. With the fly on, ground-level vents pull cool air in while warm air escapes through the mesh, which is what makes the difference on a humid coastal night. A sealed electrical port takes a power cable, and a gear loft plus wall pockets keep the floor clear.
