About this product
A wrist support is a sleeve or wrap that applies compression around the joint. It is used for lifting, racket sports, cycling, and work involving repetitive hand movement.
It is worth being honest about how one works. A fabric support does not mechanically hold your wrist still – the forces a wrist generates under a loaded press or a tennis serve are far beyond what elastic can resist. What it actually does is three smaller things that add up. It applies compression, which reduces swelling and makes a sore joint feel better. It keeps the joint warm, which matters most at the start of a session. And it gives continuous sensory feedback from the skin, so you become aware of the joint bending towards a painful range before you get there. That last one is the largest effect and it is why people find supports helpful even though the fabric is not holding anything.
The practical implication is that a support helps you keep training while you fix the underlying problem. It is not the fix. Wrist pain from lifting usually comes from bar position or wrist extension under load; wrist pain from a racket comes from grip size or technique; wrist pain from a desk comes from how the desk is set up. A support buys comfort while you sort those out.
Do not live in it. A joint that is supported all day does less work, and the small stabilising muscles around it weaken. Wear it for the activity that provokes the symptoms and take it off afterwards.
And get the size right. A support that is too loose does nothing at all, and one that is too tight restricts circulation – if your fingers tingle or go cold, take it off.
