About this product
This is a push-up board: a slotted base with colour-coded positions and a pair of removable handles that clip into them.
The idea is straightforward. Where you put your hands changes which muscles do most of the work in a push-up. Hands wide and out to the sides loads the chest. Hands close under the shoulders shifts it to the triceps. Hands further forward puts more on the shoulders. Turning the hands changes the emphasis again. These are real differences, and most people never use them because they do one push-up position and stop improving.
The board makes the positions repeatable. Colour-coded slots mean you put the handles in the same place each time, so you can actually compare one session with the next – which is what progress requires.
The handles do a second job that matters more than the first for a lot of people. A push-up on flat palms forces the wrist into full extension under load, and for anyone with a wrist problem that is the end of push-ups. A handle lets you grip with the wrist straight, and the discomfort disappears.
They also raise your hands off the floor, so your chest can drop below the level of your hands – a deeper range than a floor push-up allows, and a noticeably harder exercise.
It is a bodyweight tool, so progression comes from range, tempo and volume rather than from adding load. Slowing the lowering phase down to three or four seconds is the simplest way to make push-ups hard again.
