Product description

About this product

A self-inflating pad with the pillow built into it, so there is one less thing to pack and nothing to slide away from under your head in the night. Press studs along the edges join pads to each other – single to single, single to double, double to double – so a family or a group can build one continuous sleeping surface instead of a row of gaps.

Open the nozzle and it fills itself to about 70%; two or three breaths finish it. The core is 30 mm high-resilience memory foam, which cushions properly and keeps the crackle down when you turn over.

Key Features

  • Pillow built into the pad – integral, so it cannot slide off or be forgotten
  • Press-stud splicing: join pads single-to-single, single-to-double or double-to-double
  • Self-inflates to about 70%, topped up with a couple of breaths
  • 30 mm high-resilience memory foam core
  • Quiet – far less noise when turning over than an air pad
  • Approx. 1 kg, with a drawstring carry bag

Who It Suits

  • Family and group camping, where joined pads beat separate ones sliding apart
  • Car camping where packing fewer separate items is worth more than saving grams
  • Anyone who keeps losing the camp pillow in the night
  • Guests at home – it works as a spare bed on a floor

Questions

Good to know

How do the pads join?

Press studs along both long edges. Any two pads of the same range clip together - single to single, single to double, or double to double - and stay put instead of drifting apart in the night.

Is the pillow removable?

No, it is part of the pad. That is deliberate: it cannot be lost, and it does not slide off during the night.

How thick is it?

The version we stock is the 30 mm core. Naturehike also makes a 60 mm version for more cushioning and a larger pack size.

Is it warm enough for cold ground?

It is a foam-core pad, so it insulates far better than a plain air mattress. For genuinely cold high-altitude ground, put the egg-crate foam mat underneath.

Is it suitable for hiking?

Not really - at about 1 kg it is heavy for its thickness. It is built for car camping, family trips and guests at home. For hiking take the ultralight self-inflating pad.

How should I store it?

Unrolled with the valve open if you have the space. Long storage tightly rolled compresses the foam and it inflates less well over time.
