About this product

A travel pillow has one job: stop your head falling sideways while you are asleep sitting upright. Fibre-filled pillows fail at it, because loose stuffing compresses under the weight of a head and stays compressed. Memory foam recovers, so the support you had at take-off is the support you still have four hours later.
The cover is a polyester-cotton blend and it comes off to be washed, which matters in this climate more than it does elsewhere. The foam underneath should never go in a machine – it tears, and it takes days to dry properly.
Be realistic about heat. Memory foam holds warmth; that is what the material does. On a warm cabin or a coach without strong air conditioning you will feel it against your neck. It is the trade you make for support that lasts.
A U-shaped foam pillow does not squash down to nothing, so plan on clipping it to the outside of your bag rather than finding space inside.

Do you deliver in Dar es Salaam?

Does a neck pillow get hot?

Memory foam holds heat - that is a property of the material, not a fault. On a warm flight or a long coach run up to Arusha you will notice it. A cotton-blend cover helps; sitting under an air vent helps more.

Will memory foam cope with the humidity?

Memory foam absorbs moisture and is slow to give it back, which matters more in Dar es Salaam than in a dry climate. Take the cover off and wash it regularly, and air the foam itself somewhere shaded and moving rather than sealed in a bag. Foam left damp in a closed cupboard is how it starts to smell.

How do I wash it?

Take the cover off and wash that. Do not put memory foam in a washing machine - it tears and it takes days to dry. Spot-clean the foam with a barely damp cloth and let it air fully.

Can I attach it to a bag?

Most travel pillows carry a snap strap or a loop so they can clip to a rucksack rather than eat space inside it. A U-shaped foam pillow does not compress to nothing, so plan to carry it on the outside.

Does an eye mask actually help?

Darkness is the strongest signal your body uses to decide it is night. On an overnight flight or a bus running through to morning, blocking cabin lights and dawn through the window is the single cheapest thing you can do to sleep. It will not fix a cramped seat.
