A simple pole-pitched tent for one or two people, in waterproof polyester with mesh windows. The budget end, done honestly.

This is a conventional tent: poles, sleeves, pegs. It takes a few minutes rather than a few seconds, and in exchange it costs less than the automatic version and has fewer moving parts to break. For occasional camping, a beach day or a spare tent in the boot, that trade makes sense.

The fabric is waterproof polyester with UV protection, and mesh windows keep air moving while keeping insects out. The floor is 100 cm x 200 cm.

It is sold in a range of colours, which vary by batch.

Good to know

Is this the manual or the automatic version?

Manual. It pitches with conventional poles and takes a few minutes. We also stock an automatic version of this tent that opens in seconds and costs more. The earlier description on this page mistakenly described the automatic setup, and we have corrected it.

How long does it take to put up?

A few minutes once you have done it once: lay it out, thread and raise the poles, peg the corners, run the guy lines. One person can manage it alone.

Will it keep the rain out?

It is coated waterproof polyester and handles ordinary rain when pitched properly. Pitch off low ground where water collects, peg every point, and keep bedding from pressing against the walls, because contact lets damp through.

Is it warm enough for the highlands?

It is a light entry-level tent, so match the sleeping bag to the altitude rather than expecting the tent to hold heat. For coastal and lowland camping it is fine.

What colour will I get?

The supplier varies colours by batch. Ask us what is in stock if the colour matters to you.

How do I look after it?

Dry it fully before packing, always. Sponge with mild soap and cool water, never a machine wash, which strips the waterproof coating. Store it loose and dry.
