About this product
A freestanding three-person double-layer tent on 7001 aluminium X-poles, 3.1 kg, with a silver-coated UPF 50+ fly.
Naturehike sold this series as Cloud Creek before renaming it Cloud River. It sits between a budget dome and an ultralight shelter: proper aluminium poles and a true double-layer build, at a weight and price that make sense for someone camping a few weekends a year rather than thru-hiking.
The frame is a crossed X of 7001 aluminium poles, which makes it freestanding. That matters more than it sounds: you can pitch it on rock, hard-packed ground or a wooden platform where pegs will not go in, then move it once it is up to find level ground. A tent that needs tension from pegs to stand cannot do either.
The fly is 210T polyester with a silver coating rated UPF 50+ and 3000 mm waterproof, which is a higher rating than most tents at this weight. Silver coating does two jobs: it reflects sun so the inside stays cooler through the middle of the day, and it adds to the UV protection. The floor is a tougher 150D Oxford, and the inner is polyester mesh so air moves through on a hot night.
Pitched it is 220 x 180 cm with 125 cm of headroom. Packed it is 52 x 16 x 16 cm at 3.1 kg, and it goes up in under five minutes.

Who It Suits
- Two or three people camping weekends rather than thru-hiking
- Anyone pitching on hard ground, rock or platforms where pegs will not hold
- Hot-weather and coastal camping, where the silver coating and mesh inner earn their keep

It is a 3-season tent. Freestanding does not mean it can be left unpegged: once the wind gets up, an unpegged tent becomes a kite.
