Most hand pumps are volume pumps: they fill a thing with air and stop well short of real pressure. The Air Hammer Sport does both jobs, and you choose which by moving the hose to a different port on the body.
Double action pushes air on both the up and the down stroke, 3.45 litres a cycle, up to 7 PSI. That is the setting for getting a paddleboard, kayak or large float from flat to nearly firm, fast.
Single action pushes on the down stroke only, 1.8 litres a cycle, and will take you to 23 PSI. That is the setting for the last stretch, where a paddleboard goes from nearly firm to properly rigid at 12 to 15 PSI.
The gauge on the barrel reads from 5 to 23 PSI. It is an analogue manometer, so there is nothing to charge and nothing to go flat on you halfway through a season.
