The same striped canvas hammock, but with an 80 cm wooden spreader bar at each end. The bar holds the cloth open flat, so you lie on top of the hammock rather than inside it – closer to a sun lounger than a cocoon, and much easier to get in and out of.
The trade-off is worth knowing: a spread hammock is flatter and better for sitting sideways or reading, but it tips more easily than a gathered-end one, so it suits relaxed daytime use rather than sleeping.
