About this product

A liner does two jobs. It takes the sweat, sunscreen and dust that would otherwise go straight into your sleeping bag, and it adds a few degrees of warmth when the bag is marginal for the night. This one is a nylon and elastane blend with 20% stretch, so it moves with you instead of binding around your legs the way a fixed-width liner does.

At 350 g and the size of a fist packed, it is worth carrying for the cleaning alone – it washes at home in minutes, where a full bag does not.

Good to know

How much warmth does a liner actually add?

A few degrees - useful when a bag is borderline, but not a substitute for the right bag. Treat it as a small bonus on top of the cleaning benefit.

Can I sleep in just the liner?

On warm nights, yes, and plenty of people do exactly that on the coast. It is a sheet, not insulation, so it is not enough on a cold night on its own.

Does it fit inside any sleeping bag?

It fits a standard adult mummy or envelope bag. In a snug mummy bag the stretch matters - a fixed-width liner would bunch, this one gives.

How do I wash it?

Normal machine wash, cold or 30 °C, and it dries quickly. That is the whole point: wash the liner often and the bag rarely.

Is it good for hostels and lodges?

Yes, it is one of the most common uses. It gives you your own clean layer against shared bedding, and packs to nothing.
