About this product
The reason people get dehydrated riding in Tanzanian heat is not that they have no water – it is that drinking means stopping, getting the bottle out and getting going again, so they put it off. A hydration pack removes every step of that. The tube clips within reach and you drink while moving.
This one comes with the water bladder included, which matters more than it sounds. Most hydration packs sell you the bag and leave the bladder as an accessory, so plenty of them are used for months as ordinary backpacks. This one works properly from the day you buy it.
At 20 litres it holds a real day’s kit – tools, a pump, a spare tube, a rain jacket, lunch and a lock – with hooks and pockets through the pack so the tools are not loose in with the food. The fabric is 100 percent polyester, water resistant against light rain and tough against the scraping a cycling bag takes.
The straps are soft but sturdy and adjust to conform to the body, which is what stops a loaded pack swinging when you stand on the pedals or move quickly on foot. It measures 50 x 24 x 25 cm and weighs 675 g complete. It suits cycling, hiking and any long day where stopping to drink is the thing that does not happen.
