The small is 22 x 14 x 8 cm and 140 g. The large is 24 x 16 x 9.5 cm and 170 g. The small suits a weekend and a basic wash kit. Take the large if you carry full-size bottles, a shaving kit or anything for two people.

No, and we will not call it that. Naturehike specify water-repellent fabric, which sheds a splash and a wet counter top. It is not sealed and it will not survive being submerged or hold a leaking bottle indefinitely. Put anything that can leak in its own zip bag first.

It has a hook, which is what makes it useful in a hotel bathroom or a tent vestibule where there is no counter space. Naturehike do not publish the hook material, so we will not quote one.

Dar es Salaam sits at high humidity most of the year and damp is what ruins a wash bag. Empty it and leave it open to dry after every trip rather than zipping it shut wet, and keep anything that has leaked out of the lining. Fabric that never dries is what starts the smell.

The bag itself is fine in hand luggage, but the liquids inside are not exempt. Most airlines out of Julius Nyerere apply the 100 ml per container rule in a one-litre clear bag for cabin baggage. Use this bag for checked luggage, or pack the liquids separately in a clear pouch and keep this one for everything else.

Wipe the lining out with a damp cloth and mild soap, then air dry it completely before storing. Do not put it in a washing machine and do not dry it in direct sun for hours - the heat is harder on the coating and the zips than the washing is.
