Plastic camping crockery has a short life. It stains from anything with tomato or turmeric in it, it warps if it touches a hot pot, and it eventually cracks. This mess kit is the alternative: a full place setting for one person in polished stainless steel – a plate, a bowl, a cup, and a knife, fork and spoon.
Stainless is the right material for outdoor eating. It takes heat, so resting it against a pot is a non-event. It does not hold flavours or colours, so yesterday’s pilau does not tint today’s breakfast.
