Product description

About this product

Tennis Bag – in stock at 361 Degrees Adventure in Dar es Salaam.

Wilson’s RF Team 12 Pack from the Roger Federer signature line – two main compartments holding six racquets each, large accessory compartments, exterior side pockets, backpack straps and grab handles, in black with the Federer signature printed on each side.

Two things we want to be straight about, because both matter in this climate and neither is obvious from a photograph.

First: this bag has no thermal lining. The RF Team was explicitly Wilson’s value tier – a great deal of bag for players who do not need the extras – and thermal compartments live on their Super Tour and Tour lines. A thermal lining is not a trivial feature here: a dark bag in Dar sun becomes seriously hot, and heat is what kills string tension fastest. If you leave a bag courtside in the sun, look at our HEAD Pro X instead, which has HEAD’s CCT+ thermal compartment. If your bag lives in a car or a clubhouse, the RF Team is fine and considerably better value.

Second: it is a legacy product. The RF Team is the 2020 line and is no longer in Wilson’s current catalogue, which now runs the RF 01 and RF Tournament bags. That is reflected in the price, and the bag is no worse for being a few seasons old.

76 by 30 by 32 cm. Roger Federer retired from professional tennis in 2022 and the line continues as a heritage collection.

Buying a Tennis Bag in Dar es Salaam

361 Degrees Adventure keeps the tennis bag at our showroom in Upanga, Dar es Salaam, with delivery countrywide across Tanzania. Come and handle it before you buy, or order online and collect.

Every tennis bag is checked in store before it leaves us, and our staff use the same kit in the field, so you get an honest answer on fit and sizing rather than a sales pitch.

Not sure which tennis bag suits you? Call or message the showroom and we will talk you through the options that are actually in stock in Tanzania.

Spare parts and replacements for the tennis bag are easier to get here than on an overseas order, which matters once the gear is in use.

Questions

Good to know

Does it have a thermal lining?

No. The RF Team is Wilson's value tier and never had one - thermal compartments are on their Super Tour and Tour lines. In this heat that is worth knowing: if your bag sits courtside in the sun, look at the HEAD Pro X with CCT+ instead.

Is it still a current model?

No. The RF Team is the 2020 line; Wilson's current RF bags are the RF 01 and RF Tournament. This is legacy stock, priced accordingly, and none the worse for it.

Do I need a 12-racquet bag?

Probably not, unless you are a coach or you carry spares in several tensions. Most club players carry two or three. What a 12-pack really gives you is the room - racquets in one side, kit and shoes in the other.

How does the climate here affect equipment?

Heat is hard on strings - polyester loses tension fastest of all string types and heat accelerates it sharply, so expect to restring more often than a European schedule suggests. Never leave a racket in a car boot. Humidity is hard on grips and on natural gut, which absorbs moisture and softens. And pressurised balls go dead faster in heat, opened or not.

When do strings need replacing?

Long before they break. Strings lose tension and elasticity from the day they go in - the stringbed goes dead while looking perfect. The old rule still holds: restring as many times a year as you play per week. Twice a week, twice a year. At minimum once a year regardless, and sooner here, because heat accelerates tension loss badly.

How often should I change my overgrip?

When it stops being tacky, which in this heat and humidity is far sooner than the packet suggests - for a regular player, every few sessions. A slick grip makes you squeeze harder, and squeezing harder is slower, more tiring and how tennis elbow starts.

How should I store racquets in this climate?

Out of the sun and out of a car boot. Heat is the enemy of string tension and it hardens grips. Keep the bag indoors between sessions and do not leave it on a hot bonnet or a sunlit veranda.
