Product description

About this product

Carbon Fiber Tennis Racket – in stock at 361 Degrees Adventure in Dar es Salaam.

A lightweight beginner’s tennis racket with a carbon-composite frame.

We want to describe this accurately. TOTOP is not a verifiable tennis brand: there is no manufacturer website, no product catalogue, no model numbers, no dealer network and no independent reviews. It is an importer label on an OEM racket, which is a perfectly ordinary thing for a racket at this price to be – but it means there is no published specification to stand behind.

So rather than repeat a supplier’s marketing sheet, we will measure the stock. Ask us and we will give you the head size, the strung weight, the length, the grip size and the string pattern from the actual racket. Those are the numbers that determine how a racket plays, and a measured figure is worth more than a printed one.

One thing worth saying about carbon claims at this price point: a racket described as 100 percent carbon fibre for the money a beginner racket costs is usually an aluminium or aluminium-graphite composite. We are not going to assert a frame material we have not verified.

What is true regardless is that for a beginner the important qualities are a large head, a light weight and a forgiving balance – and that a racket with those qualities will help you far more than a brand name will. The honest comparison with a Wilson Tour Slam Lite is not about playing character so much as support: no manufacturer support, no spare grommets, no replacement parts. That is the trade, and it is a reasonable one if you are finding out whether you enjoy tennis.

Buying a Carbon Fiber Tennis Racket in Dar es Salaam

361 Degrees Adventure keeps the carbon fiber tennis racket at our showroom in Upanga, Dar es Salaam, with delivery countrywide across Tanzania. Come and handle it before you buy, or order online and collect.

Every carbon fiber tennis racket is checked in store before it leaves us, and our staff use the same kit in the field, so you get an honest answer on fit and sizing rather than a sales pitch.

Not sure which carbon fiber tennis racket suits you? Call or message the showroom and we will talk you through the options that are actually in stock in Tanzania.

Spare parts and replacements for the carbon fiber tennis racket are easier to get here than on an overseas order, which matters once the gear is in use.

Pricing on the carbon fiber tennis racket is quoted in Tanzanian shillings, VAT included, so the figure you see is the figure you pay at the counter in Tanzania.

Questions

Good to know

What does head size change?

How much the racket helps you against how much control you have. A bigger head means more power and a bigger sweet spot that punishes mishits less - which is why beginners should start oversize. A smaller head means more control and more feedback, which is what a player with a full swing needs to keep the ball in. Under 100 square inches is control; 105 to 110 is forgiving; above 110 is maximum help.

What are the actual specifications?

We will measure them for you rather than repeat a supplier sheet. TOTOP publish nothing verifiable, so the only honest numbers are the ones off the racket in stock. Ask us for head size, strung weight, length and grip size.

Is it really carbon fibre?

We are not asserting that. A racket described as 100 percent carbon at a beginner price point is usually an aluminium or aluminium-graphite composite. If the material matters to you, ask and we will tell you what we can establish.

Should I buy this or a branded beginner racket?

If you are finding out whether you enjoy tennis, this is a reasonable way to do it. If you already know you will keep playing, a branded frame comes with manufacturer support, spare grommets and replacement parts - which matters when you crack a frame or wear out the bumper.

When do strings need replacing?

Long before they break. Strings lose tension and elasticity from the day they go in - the stringbed goes dead while looking perfect. The old rule still holds: restring as many times a year as you play per week. Twice a week, twice a year. At minimum once a year regardless, and sooner here, because heat accelerates tension loss badly.

What does string gauge mean?

How thick the string is. It is quoted in millimetres and in a US gauge number where higher means thinner - 1.20 mm is 17 gauge, 1.30 mm is 16. Thinner bites the ball more for extra spin and feel, and breaks sooner. Thicker lasts considerably longer and feels firmer and more controlled, with less spin. 1.25 mm is the sensible middle.

How does the climate here affect equipment?

Heat is hard on strings - polyester loses tension fastest of all string types and heat accelerates it sharply, so expect to restring more often than a European schedule suggests. Never leave a racket in a car boot. Humidity is hard on grips and on natural gut, which absorbs moisture and softens. And pressurised balls go dead faster in heat, opened or not.
