About this product

The NL2155HPR takes the 5,500 mAh high-performance 21700 and adds a USB-C port to the cell itself. That removes the charger from the equation entirely: any USB-C cable, from a wall plug, a power bank, a car socket or a solar panel, will charge it.

For anyone running several lights, or living with an unreliable grid, being able to charge the battery independently of the torch is the practical advantage.

Good to know

Will it fit every 21700 light?

The USB-C port makes it slightly longer than a bare 21700, so check it seats fully in your light. It is not an i-series cell, so it is not for the P20iX, P23i or P30i.

How long does it take to charge?

A few hours from flat on an ordinary 5V USB source. A higher-current charger helps.

Can I charge it from a solar panel?

Yes, any USB-C output will do it, which is exactly why people buy this version rather than the plain HP.

How should I store a spare?

Around half charged, somewhere cool, with the terminals covered. Never store one flat, and never loose with keys or coins.

Can I fly with it?

Spare lithium cells go in cabin baggage only, never in the hold, with terminals taped or in a case. Check how many your airline allows.

What if it swells or gets hot?

Take it out of service immediately. Do not charge it, do not puncture it, and dispose of it at a recycling point rather than in household waste.

How long will it last?

Several hundred full cycles. Heat is what ages a lithium cell fastest, so keep the light out of a parked car in the sun.

When should I replace it?

When the runtime is clearly shorter than it was when new, or it will not hold charge for a week unused.
