The head is a quick-detach yoke with an integrated lock. Quick-detach means it comes off in a second, so the same tripod takes different heads for different jobs. The lock is the more important half: the yoke holds its position rather than floating, so the aim does not drift while you settle and breathe.
The materials are unusually good for the class – magnesium alloy and 7075 aluminium in the structure, TPR for the grips, with ABS, PA and stainless steel fittings. Magnesium and 7075 are what you use when you want rigidity without weight, and rigidity is the whole point of a rest. The legs are two-section telescopic, so each one adjusts separately: on a slope you shorten the uphill leg and the head stays level, which a single stick cannot do.
Non-slip TPR grips and a stable leg spread hold it on loose ground, and the multi-angle head works on uneven terrain. It comes in black, green and camouflage. It suits hunting, and equally spotting scopes and long-lens wildlife photography.
