Walk through dry grass and you spend the evening picking seeds out of your laces. Cross mud and it works its way over the boot top. A pair of gaiters stops all of it at the knee.

These are built in 600D Oxford fabric with a ripstop weave, which is the sensible combination for African bush – heavy enough for thorn scrub, rock and forest debris, with a grid weave that stops a small snag turning into a tear. The fabric is waterproof but breathable, so the water stays outside without your legs cooking.

They stay put because of two details. A boot lace hook anchors the front of the gaiter to your laces, and a heavy-duty TPU strap runs under the sole. Between them, the gaiter does not ride up as you push through undergrowth – which is the failure mode of cheap gaiters and the reason people give up on them. A reinforced hook-and-loop strip runs the full length for fast fitting, and an adjustable top strap seals against the calf.

No. These are weather and debris gaiters - they keep water, mud, thorns and grass seeds out of your boots. If snake protection is what you need, our snake gaiters use rigid reinforced panels and are a completely different product.
