It is 331 cm long and 88 cm wide with a closed cockpit, rated to 220 kg. That rating is worth noting because it is the difference between a boat that carries two adults and a boat that carries two adults plus a cool box, a dry bag and a rod. Two inflatable seats with backrests sit in the cockpit and can be moved along it, so you can trim the boat for the load – or move one to the middle and paddle it as a large single.
The hull is Bestway’s Inflata-Shield fabric over three separate air chambers with a fixed inflatable floor. Two removable fins clip underneath; without them a wide, flat-bottomed inflatable wanders with every stroke, and with them it holds a line well enough to cover real distance.
It suits Msasani Bay, the Mbezi creek, lagoons at Kigamboni and Bagamoyo, Zanzibar, Mafia and the lakes. It is a recreational boat for sheltered water. Wear buoyancy aids, watch for offshore wind, and stay inside the reef.
