About this product
A backpack described as water resistant will hold out a shower. It will not hold out a Tanzanian long-rains downpour, and the thing that gets wet first is whatever is against the back panel – usually a sleeping bag or a change of clothes, which are exactly what you need dry at the end of the day.
A rain cover fixes that for very little money and almost no weight. This one is waterproof nylon with an elastic edge that pulls tight around the pack, so it stays on in wind and does not creep off as you walk. It packs down into its own small pouch, which is how it ends up living permanently in a lid pocket rather than being left at home.
It does more than rain. On a dusty road, in the back of a pickup, or on an airline baggage belt, the cover keeps grit off the fabric and keeps straps from catching in machinery – which is how most packs get damaged in transit. Many people use one every time their pack travels, rain or not.
It fits a range of backpack sizes through the elastic edge. Tell us the litre capacity of your pack and we will confirm the right fit before you order.
