About this product

PGM’s G300 set, model code MTG025, is a complete twelve-club outfit with the bag included – which is the sensible way to start golf rather than assembling a set piece by piece.

What you get: three woods including the driver, one hybrid – PGM call it an iron wood – seven irons, and a putter. Twelve clubs, plus a microfibre-leather telescopic bag that PGM specify over the usual nylon for wear resistance.

The driver head is titanium alloy, CNC milled in one piece, with the striking face thinned at the edges to increase rebound. The irons have stainless steel heads with a low centre of gravity, which is the design that makes a ball easier to get airborne from a less than perfect strike. The putter face is two-way milled for a consistent roll.

This version has A steel shaft, which is heavier than graphite and transmits more feedback through the hands. Steel is more durable, costs less, and gives a stronger player better control of the clubface. If your swing is already reasonably repeatable, steel is the more honest shaft.

PGM position the G300 explicitly at beginners and mid-handicap players, and the club specifications back that up – this is a forgiving set rather than a demanding one.

Supplied right-handed. PGM do make a left-handed G300, but it is built to order – tell us before you buy and we will find out what is possible.

Good to know

I am just starting. What do I actually need?

A set of clubs, a bag, a glove, tees and balls you will not mind losing. Everything else can wait. Lessons will do more for your score than any equipment upgrade, and a beginner-friendly set with forgiving irons is worth far more than a better-branded set aimed at low handicaps.

What clubs are actually in the set?

Three woods including the driver, one hybrid, seven irons and a putter - twelve clubs - plus the bag. That covers every shot a beginner or mid-handicap player needs, with nothing missing that you would have to buy separately.

Graphite or steel shafts?

Graphite is lighter, so a slower swing generates more head speed, and it damps the shock of a mishit. Steel is heavier, more durable, cheaper, and gives a stronger player more feedback and control. If you are new to golf or your swing speed is modest, graphite. If you are already striking it well, steel.

Is a left-handed set available?

PGM make one, but it is built to order rather than stocked. Tell us before you buy and we will find out the lead time. Do not assume the set on the shelf is left-handed.

What driver head size is it?

PGM do not publish a head volume for the men's G300 and we are not going to invent one. If the figure matters to you, ask us and we will measure the stock.

How do I look after the clubs?

Brush the faces after each shot and wipe the shafts down at the end of a round. Wash grips with warm water and washing-up liquid every few weeks - grip performance degrades from skin oils and sunscreen more than from wear. Dry everything before it goes back in the bag.

Does the heat here affect golf equipment?

Yes, more than most people expect. Grips harden and glaze faster in UV and heat, so they need replacing more often than a manual assumes. Leather gloves stiffen if they dry out crumpled - smooth them flat after a round. And never leave clubs in a parked car boot; sustained heat degrades epoxy shaft bonds.

Do you deliver in Dar es Salaam?

Yes. We deliver across Dar es Salaam and send nationwide to Arusha, Moshi, Mwanza, Dodoma, Zanzibar and beyond by courier. Golf club sets travel in a long carton, so tell us when you order and we will arrange the right courier.

Where can I play in Tanzania?

The Gymkhana Club course in central Dar es Salaam is the main city option, and Lugalo Golf Course sits just outside it. Upcountry there are courses at Arusha, Moshi and Morogoro, and several of the estate and plantation courses welcome visitors. Ring ahead - green fee arrangements for non-members vary.
