Twenty-five litres is the size that gets used most. It holds a laptop or a camera, a rain shell, lunch, a water bottle and a jumper – enough for a full day on a trail, a working day in town, or a flight where the good things travel with you rather than in the hold.
The back panel is what separates a daypack that works in this climate from one that does not. This one has a ventilated mesh panel holding the pack off your spine so air moves through. Inside, the main compartment expands to suit the load. There is a front pocket for things you reach for, bottle pouches on both sides, organiser pockets within, and small storage on the shoulder straps themselves so a phone or keys never go inside the pack.
