This is the standard two-piece snorkelling set: a twin-lens mask and a snorkel with a clip to attach it. Bestway build it for 14 years and above, and it is sized for an adult face.
The mask uses two scratch-resistant tempered glass lenses with a soft rim seal and a two-part silicone head strap. Twin lenses sit closer to the eyes than a single pane, so the field of view is slightly wider for the same frame size, and a twin-lens frame is the type that can be fitted with prescription lenses later if you need them. The split strap sits above and below the crown instead of sliding up the back of the head.
On the snorkel, the two features that matter are both present. The splash guard on top is a shaped cover that deflects surface chop away from the opening – without one, every small wave sends water down the tube, which is the reason people give up on snorkelling in anything but flat water. The purge valve at the bottom is a one-way flap below the mouthpiece: water that does get in collects there and one sharp exhale blows it straight out, rather than you having to blast a full tube clear.
Be clear that a splash guard is not a dry top. A dry top has a float that seals the tube completely when it goes under; a splash guard just deflects surface water. Duck below the surface with this one and the tube will fill, and you clear it with the purge valve when you come up. For surface snorkelling over the reef, that is entirely normal and takes one breath.
The mouthpiece is soft rather than hard rubber, which is what makes a long session bearable. Rest your teeth on it and seal with your lips rather than biting – a clamped jaw after forty minutes over the reef at Bongoyo aches longer than the swim took.
