About this product

A hooded envelope bag in the Korean style – the hood is cut as part of the bag and adds 30 cm above the 180 cm body, so you can pull it closed around your head on a cold night instead of losing heat through the top.

500 g/m2 of fill puts it between a three-season bag and a true winter one, and the waterproof-coated 210T lattice polyester outer handles condensation and damp ground. The lining is 210T brushed fabric, soft enough to sleep against directly.

How warm is 500 g/m2?

Warmer than the usual three-season bag, cooler than our 700 g/m2 winter bag. The supplier publishes fill weight rather than a tested temperature rating, and we will not invent one - for a directly comparable EN figure, the Naturehike M400 is rated at about 1 °C comfort with 400 g/m2.

How does the hood work?

It is sewn as part of the bag and adds 30 cm above the 180 cm body, so it closes around your head and shoulders rather than sitting flat like a rectangular bag.

Is 180 cm long enough for me?

The body is 180 cm with 30 cm of hood above it, so it suits most adults up to roughly 180 cm tall. If you are taller, the 210 cm rectangular version is the better fit.

Can I open it flat?

It is an envelope cut, so it opens far flatter than a mummy bag, but the integrated hood means it will not lie completely flat as a quilt.

Will it be too warm for the coast?

Yes, for most of the year. For Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar and the low-lying parks, a summer bag like the LW180 is the right choice.

How do I look after it?

Air it after every trip, spot clean rather than washing where possible, dry it fully before storing, and keep it loose rather than compressed between trips.
