About this product

A hanging tent lamp built around a long stem and a big ring, so it sits well clear of the tent roof instead of pressing against it. The lower body is a translucent cylinder holding 16 LEDs, which spreads the light evenly all round rather than throwing a single bright disc onto the floor.

Four lighting modes cover the range from a bright working light down to a soft glow you can leave on all night, in white and warm white.

The base is magnetic, so as well as hanging it you can stick it to a vehicle door, a roof rack, a tent pole bracket or a steel awning leg. The stem also makes it easy to carry in one hand or clip to a pack.

Good to know

How does it mount?

Three ways. Hang it by the ring at the top of the stem from a tent loop or a ridgeline; stick it to any steel surface with the magnet in the base; or stand it upright on a flat surface.

What are the four modes?

The unit cycles through four levels and colour settings covering white and warm white, from full brightness down to a low glow. Warm white is the one to leave on overnight - it is easier on the eyes and draws fewer insects.

What powers it?

This is the one detail we are waiting on from the supplier and we would rather tell you that than guess. Ask us before you order if it matters to you and we will confirm from the unit in stock.

Will the magnet hold on a car?

Yes, on any steel panel - a door, a bonnet, a roof rack upright. It will not hold on aluminium or thick plastic trim.

Is it bright enough for a family tent?

It is sized as a tent and awning light rather than a campsite light. For a big tent it does the job on its own; to light an outdoor eating area as well, pair it with one of our larger lanterns or the floodlight.

Is it waterproof?

No rating is published, so treat it as a tent-interior and awning light. Keep it out of the rain.
