The six-person instant cabin with lighting built into the ceiling poles, so there is no lantern hanging in your face.
Every other tent needs a light hung from a loop, which means a bright spot above you, shadows everywhere else, and something swinging when you knock it. Here the LEDs run along the ceiling poles and throw even light across the whole interior, with a wall switch by the door. Three modes: high to find something, low to sit and talk, and an amber nightlight dim enough to sleep through but bright enough that nobody trips on the way out.
The frame is CORE’s instant system, poles pre-attached, so the tent goes from bag to standing in about sixty seconds: unfold it and push the telescoping legs out. Inside is 11 ft x 9 ft with 72 in of headroom and near-vertical walls, room for two queen air beds.
Weather is handled by the H2O Block system: 68D polyester treated to 1200 mm, factory-taped rainfly, sealed seams. No-see-um mesh keeps out the small biting insects that ordinary mesh lets through, which matters on the coast. Ground vents draw cool air in, the mesh ceiling lets the heat out, and a sealed electrical port takes a power cable.
Power for the lights comes from four D batteries or a 5V 1A rechargeable pack. Batteries are not in the box, so buy them with the tent.
