About this product
Generation Automatic Cabin Tent – in stock at 361 Degrees Adventure in Tanzania.
The second-generation Village 5.0: same 477 cm footprint, three and a half kilos lighter, with a titanium-black coated roof that blocks the light.
Naturehike rebuilt the Village 5.0 rather than restyling it. The external shell stays at 477 x 240 cm with a 240 x 210 cm interior of about 5 square metres, but the weight drops from roughly 14 kg to 10.8 kg, which on a tent you lift in and out of a vehicle is the difference between a two-person job and a one-person one.
The other change is the roof. The outer is 150D silver-coated Oxford, and the roof panel carries a titanium-black vinyl coating that blocks light rather than filtering it. Near the equator, where a standard tent is glowing by six in the morning, that is what lets people sleep past sunrise. The floor is a heavier 210D Oxford, and the shell is rated PU 2000 to 3000 mm.
It keeps the integrated self-supporting aluminium frame, so it opens without pole threading. Double doors, mesh windows all round and a full-mesh roof panel handle airflow, and the canopy extends on iron hall poles for covered space outside the door.

It is a 3-season tent. A 477 cm shell has a long side, so pitch it end-on to the prevailing wind and guy it out fully.

- Storage bag
This generation has been discontinued by Naturehike and is no longer listed by its official storefronts, so spares are difficult to source.
