The frame opens itself. There is nothing to thread and nothing to extend: release it and it locks into shape, which Naturehike rates at three seconds and which is honestly about right. The frame is a hybrid, aluminium where the load is and fiberglass where flex helps, rather than fiberglass throughout as on cheaper instant tents.
What separates this from the plain version is the canopy. Pitched out on its poles it adds 9 square metres of covered ground in front of the door, which is where camp life actually happens: cooking, eating, sitting out of the sun, keeping chairs and a cool box dry. It roughly triples the usable footprint without tripling the tent.
Windows run on all four sides with five-sided ventilation, so air crosses the tent from any direction the breeze happens to come from. The shell is rated PU2000mm+ with UPF 50+ sun protection.
