Moonwalkr-s Thigh Guards 2.0 put inner and outer thigh protection into a single integrated unit, with a hip protector on a hinge.
That integration is the whole argument. Conventional thigh protection is two separate pads: a main guard strapped to the front thigh of the leading leg, and a smaller inner guard on the other leg. Each has its own straps, each slips independently, and between them they produce the familiar sight of a batsman rearranging their leg pads between every over. Moonwalkr build one unit that covers both, which means fewer straps, less slipping and less fiddling.
The articulating hip protector is the second real idea. A rigid hip guard digs in when you crouch into your stance and when you run – so most players either endure it or push it out of position. Putting it on a hinge lets it move with the hip through the range of a stroke and a run.
The shell is a 3D-moulded lightweight composite rather than flat foam in a pocket, with a terry inner face that absorbs sweat and resists slipping against the skin. In this climate the terry lining does more than it sounds – a hard guard sliding on a wet thigh is both uncomfortable and useless.
Sizing is by batter height rather than waist: XS for 4ft5 to 4ft8, S for 4ft9 to 5ft3, M for 5ft4 to 5ft8, L for 5ft9 to 6ft2 and XL for 6ft3 to 6ft6. Tell us the height and whether the player bats right or left handed – they are made in both.
