Product description

About this product

The HC75 UHE is the work version. Thirty-two ultra-high-efficiency LEDs, arranged as eight four-core units, produce 3,000 lumens at 4,500K, and the beam shifts electronically between spot and flood rather than by twisting a head. That means no sliding lens, no seal to fail, and no fiddling with wet gloves.

Neutral 4,500K light is the right choice for work: it shows colour and texture better than cool white and produces less glare off dust and rain. Five white levels, three special modes and two red levels are controlled by two buttons that differ in shape and touch.

Power is a replaceable NL2155HP 21700 cell of 5,500 mAh, charged in the lamp over USB-C, giving up to 84 hours. The bracket is removable.

Questions

Good to know

What does electronic focus mean in practice?

Instead of twisting the head to move a lens, you press a button and the lamp changes which LEDs are driven, shifting between a wide flood and a tighter spot. Nothing moves, so nothing wears out or lets water in.

Why 4,500K rather than cool white?

Neutral white shows colour and texture properly and glares less off dust, rain and pale surfaces. Anyone working on wiring, an engine or a fabric repair will see the difference immediately.

Is 209 g too heavy to wear?

It is a substantial lamp, and the top strap is supplied so the weight sits on your head rather than pulling the band down. For a full shift most people find it fine; for trail running it is the wrong lamp.

Can I run it while it charges?

Treat it as a charge-then-use lamp. Working from a power bank while the lamp is on its head is possible but the cable is a nuisance and the port should stay sealed in dust.

Can I carry a spare battery?

Yes, it takes a standard 21700, and a charged spare turns a long night into a non-issue.

How does it handle dust from murram roads?

IP68 covers dust as well as water. Blow the charge port clear before you open it, and keep the O-ring clean.

Is the red light bright enough to work by?

For close work at a bench or in a tent, yes, on the higher of the two red levels. It is meant for preserving night vision, not for detail.
