About this product

The NU25 UL is the ultralight of the range: 47 grams complete with bracket and headband, which is light enough that most people stop noticing it within minutes. Dual-core MCT UHE LEDs give 400 lumens with a 132-metre throw through a faceted unibody lens.

Three colour temperatures are available (3,000K, 4,500K, 6,500K) with auxiliary red lights at two levels. Four brightness levels and three special modes are run from two buttons that differ in shape and feel. The built-in 700 mAh battery charges over USB-C and gives up to 45 hours.

The diffusing stuff sack supplied with it is the quiet highlight: drop the lamp in and it becomes a soft lantern for a tent or a table.

Good to know

Is 400 lumens enough?

For walking, cooking, reading and finding things, comfortably. It is not a searchlight and does not pretend to be: the point of this lamp is that you will actually have it with you.

How do I use the stuff sack as a lantern?

Put the lamp inside with the beam pointing into the fabric and hang it. The diffused light fills a tent far more pleasantly than a bare beam on a low setting.

What is the red light for?

Keeping your eyes adjusted to the dark and not waking whoever is asleep next to you. It also draws fewer insects than white light on a coastal evening.

Is the battery replaceable?

No, the 700 mAh cell is built in. That is what keeps it at 47 g. It charges over USB-C from any phone charger, power bank or USB solar panel.

Will it survive rain?

IP66 covers heavy rain and dust, but not immersion. Dry it after a wet night and keep the charge port closed.

How long does it charge for?

Around an hour and a half from flat on an ordinary 5V source.

Is it good for children?

Yes, and it is the one most parents end up buying twice. Light, simple, and the red mode is gentle enough for a tent.
