The BT6 is Yonex-s six-racquet thermal bag, the middle size in their tournament bag range. BT6 is the designation used in Yonex-s South Asian range; the item code on this colourway is 2326-T01.
The thermo foam lining is the feature that justifies the bag, and in this climate it is not a luxury. Heat is what damages rackets in Tanzania: string tension bleeds out of a hot racket within hours, and repeated heat cycling softens the resin that holds a graphite frame together. A car boot in Dar es Salaam in the afternoon reaches temperatures that would horrify most racket manufacturers. An insulated compartment does not make a bag a fridge, but it flattens the peak and slows the damage considerably.
Beyond the racquet compartment there are three more spaces: a second foam-lined compartment for delicate items, an accessories compartment for grips, strings, shuttles and tape, and a shoe pocket. The shoe pocket does more than it sounds – court shoes after a session in this humidity are wet, and keeping them away from rackets and clothes is what stops a bag smelling.
It carries as a backpack on contoured padded straps or by hand, which is the right arrangement for something this size; a single-strap bag with six rackets in it is uncomfortable within a few hundred metres.
