The Master Collection is the top of CRONY’s range and it is specified accordingly. Where the rest of the catalogue mixes components, this series is consistent: Toray carbon blanks, Fuji SiC guides with a tangle-free top ring, a Golden Sparrow Eye wood reel seat with an aluminium hood, cork grips, and spigot joints rather than sleeve ferrules.

Those choices are not decoration. SiC is the hardest and slickest of Fuji’s ring materials, which matters most on a rod fished with braid – it resists grooving and sheds heat. A spigot joint puts the two halves of the blank into a continuous curve rather than creating a stiff spot at the ferrule. Cork gives feedback through the hand that EVA muffles, which is the whole point on a finesse rod.
