About this product
Automatic Tent – in stock at 361 Degrees Adventure in Dar es Salaam.
A 470 cm tunnel with a covered porch at each end, a self-supporting quick-pitch frame, and 190 cm of standing height.
The Village 5.0 is a tent you move into rather than crawl into. End to end it is 470 cm: a 240 cm sleeping area in the middle with a 115 cm covered vestibule at each end, so boots and packs go under cover at both doors and neither porch is a token one. At 190 cm the peak clears almost everyone standing.
The frame is a one-piece self-supporting aluminium structure that opens quickly, so a tent of this size does not need pole threading. The shell is 210D polyester Oxford rated PU 3000 mm, a heavy cloth chosen for a tent that stays pitched for days rather than one carried up a hill.
It weighs about 14.2 kg and packs into a 90 cm cylinder. That is firmly vehicle territory, which is the point: this is a base-camp tent for a family or a group that sets up once and stays.
