Highlights

A proper braai that rolls where you need it

60 x 45 cm of charcoal grilling at standing height, on a trolley frame with a side table. Built for garden parties, not for packing into a car.

60 x 45 cm cooking area

A genuinely large grate - a whole gathering's worth of meat at once, rather than cooking in rounds while people wait.

Rolls on wheels

Move it out to the garden, round to the sheltered side when the wind turns, and back against the wall when the evening is over.

Side table built in

Somewhere to rest plates, tongs, marinade and a drink, which is the difference between a grill and a workable outdoor kitchen.

107 cm working height

You stand to cook rather than crouching, which matters over the two hours a real braai actually takes.

Product description

About this product

This is the braai for people who host. The grate measures 60 x 45 cm, which cooks for a gathering in one round instead of making guests wait through three, and it stands at 107 cm – normal working height, so a long afternoon at the fire does not leave your back complaining.

The trolley frame is what makes it practical at this size. A grill this large is awkward to lift and easy to leave permanently in one spot, where the wind will eventually be wrong. On wheels it moves: out from the wall for the party, round to the sheltered side when the breeze turns, and back under cover when the coals are cold. The side table takes the plates, the tongs, the marinade and a drink, which is what turns a grill into somewhere you can actually work.

It is built from steel with heat-resistant components and finished in black, sized overall at about 115 x 66 x 107 cm. It burns ordinary charcoal – no gas fitting, no regulator, nothing to source – so lighting it is a matter of mkaa and a flame.

This one is for a garden, a terrace or a compound in Dar es Salaam, or a lodge or camp with a fixed cooking area. It is not a grill you pack into a car for the weekend. If that is what you are after, our folding tabletop grills do that job and this one does not pretend to.

Questions

Good to know

How many people does it cook for?

The 60 x 45 cm grate handles a gathering - comfortably ten to fifteen people's worth of meat in a round, depending on the cuts. It is sized for hosting rather than for a family dinner.

Does it use charcoal or gas?

Charcoal only. There is no gas fitting, which also means no regulator, no hose and nothing to source - ordinary mkaa is all it needs.

Can I take it camping?

Not practically. At about 115 cm long on a wheeled frame it is built to stay in one place and be rolled around a garden. For camping, our folding grills pack into a boot.

Will it rust in Dar es Salaam?

Any steel grill will suffer if it is left in the rain all season. Keep it under cover or use a grill cover, dry it after washing, and touch up any chips in the paint rather than leaving bare steel exposed.

Does it need assembly?

Yes, grills of this type arrive flat-packed and need putting together. It is straightforward with basic tools, and we can walk you through it if anything is unclear.

How do I control the heat?

With the charcoal itself - bank the coals to one side for a hot zone and a cooler zone, and raise or lower the amount of charcoal rather than expecting a dial. It is the traditional way and it gives more control than people expect.

Is it stable on grass or paving?

On paving or firm ground it stands well. On soft grass the wheels sink slightly, so pick a level spot and check it does not rock before loading it with hot coals.

Do you deliver and can you help with installation?

We deliver in Dar es Salaam and ship upcountry across Tanzania. Message us with your location and we will confirm the cost, timing and what help we can offer with assembly.

Where do these figures come from?

The measurements and weights on this page come from the supplier's own documentation rather than an independently tested manufacturer specification, and the table marks them as such. If a particular figure matters to you, ask us and we will measure the item in the Dar es Salaam showroom before you buy.
