About this product
Aluminum Darts Shafts – in stock at 361 Degrees Adventure in Tanzania.
Aluminium shafts – the part between the barrel and the flight, and the one people replace most often after flights.
Shaft length changes how a dart flies more than most players expect. A short shaft moves the flight closer to the barrel, which shifts the balance forward and makes the dart sit nose-down in flight – useful if your darts tend to land tail-low. A long shaft moves the flight back, adds stabilising leverage, and lifts the tail. Between those, a medium shaft is where most players end up. The usual lengths are roughly 35 mm short, 40 to 45 mm medium and 48 mm long.
Aluminium sits between nylon and titanium in character. It is far more durable than nylon and will not snap when an incoming dart strikes it – it bends instead, and a bent shaft can sometimes be straightened. The trade-off is that a bent aluminium shaft is harder to spot than a snapped nylon one, and aluminium can seize into a barrel if over-tightened or left in place for years.
Use rubber O-rings or shaft washers to stop them vibrating loose. Finger-tight is tight enough – a shaft wound in hard is a shaft you will eventually drill out.
Standard 2BA thread, which is what virtually all modern barrels use.
