Product description

About this product

Naturehike call this one the Moonlight Plus – FangYue Plus in Chinese – and it is the lamp to buy if you want one light to run a whole camp. It is a flat panel about the size of a paperback, 122 x 89 x 26 mm and 360 g, hung from a leather strap, and it puts out up to 1100 lumens across a wide flood rather than a narrow beam.

Three colour temperatures cover the different jobs: warm 2800-3200K for sitting around after dark, natural 3800-4500K for cooking and eating, and white 5900-6500K when you actually need to see what you are doing. Brightness is steplessly dimmable rather than stepped, so you can set it exactly where you want it, and there is a red flashing SOS mode.

Behind it is an 11,000 mAh lithium battery. Run it low and it goes for around 120 hours; run it at full output and you get about 4.5. The same battery works as a power bank through the Type-C port, so it will put a phone back up when you are days from a socket. Charging takes 3.5 to 4 hours.

There is a tripod thread on the base, so it can go up on a stand or a light pole instead of hanging.

Rated IPX4, which means splashes and light rain are fine. Do not leave it out in a downpour.

Questions

Good to know

How long will it actually last on a weekend trip?

On the warm setting at a moderate level, a full charge covers several nights easily. Naturehike quote about 120 hours at the lowest setting and 4.5 hours flat out at 1100 lumens. Most people sit somewhere in the middle and get a long weekend from one charge.

Can it charge my phone?

Yes. The Type-C port works both ways, so the 11,000 mAh battery will top up a phone. That is roughly two full phone charges, less if you are also using the light.

Which colour temperature should I use?

Warm 2800-3200K for relaxing and eating - it does not attract as many insects. Natural 4500K for cooking and general camp work. White 5900-6500K when you need real visibility, for repairs or finding something in the dark.

Can I leave it out in the rain?

No. IPX4 covers splashes and light drizzle, not a downpour or immersion. Bring it inside the tent if the weather turns.

How do I mount it?

Three ways: hang it by the leather strap from a ridgeline or tent loop, stand it flat on a table, or screw it onto a camera tripod or light pole using the thread on the base.

Is the brightness stepped or smooth?

Smooth. It dims steplessly rather than cycling through fixed levels, so you can set it low enough not to blind everyone at the table.
