About this product

Most tactical lights chase distance. The P20iX chases coverage: four CREE XP-L2 V6 LEDs produce 4,000 lumens across a wide beam that lights a whole room, yard or vehicle interior at once, with 221 metres of throw when you need it.

It runs the same dual-tail-switch interface as the rest of the P range, with tactical and daily modes and STROBE READY for instant strobe. The supplied NL2150HPi 21700 cell holds 5,000 mAh and charges in the light over USB-C; the indicator beside the port reads out battery voltage to a tenth of a volt. Two CR123 primaries fit with the supplied magazine.

Good to know

Why does it throw less than cheaper lights?

Because it is built to flood. Four LEDs spread across a head this size cannot focus into a tight spot, and that is deliberate: indoors and at close range, a wide even beam shows you more than a narrow one. If you want distance, the P23i or P30i are the lights to look at.

What is 4,000 lumens actually like indoors?

Overwhelming on turbo, which is why there are lower levels. In a dark room the mid levels are what you will use; turbo is for a compound or a warehouse.

Does it really run 350 hours?

On the lowest level, with the 5,000 mAh cell. That level is dim but usable, and it is what makes this light practical during a long outage.

Can I run it on CR123 primaries?

Yes, two of them with the supplied magazine, as a backup when the 21700 is flat.

How do I read the battery level?

The indicator next to the charging port shows remaining power and can display the actual voltage to a tenth of a volt, which is a better guide to a lithium cell's state than a three-bar icon.

Is it suitable for the rains?

IP68 to 2 metres, so yes. Dry the charging port before you plug in, and rinse the body if it has been in salt spray.

What is the strike bezel for?

Breaking vehicle glass in an emergency, and it gives the head some bite in a defensive situation. It is ceramic, so it will not rust.
