The SG RSD Xtreme is SG-s entry keeping glove, with a PVC palm and rubber grip facing rather than leather.

Be clear about that difference. A leather palm grips a ball when your hands are wet with sweat; a PVC one goes slick. For an adult keeper standing up to the stumps in a humid Dar es Salaam afternoon, that is a genuine performance difference and a leather palm is worth the money.

Where a synthetic palm makes sense is junior cricket and shared kit. In junior cricket the ball comes through more slowly and the sessions are shorter, so the sweat problem is far smaller and fit matters much more than palm material. And for a school or a club keeping spare pairs in the bag, a glove nobody minds sharing and nobody is heartbroken to lose is exactly the right purchase.

Do I need inner gloves under keeping gloves?
