MO-94 is Muc-Off’s general-purpose spray, and it is the can that ends up being used on things that are not bicycles at all.
It does four jobs at once: penetrates moisture, lubricates moving parts, frees seized fittings and leaves a long-lasting protective film that keeps rust and corrosion at bay. On a bike that means cables, pivots, cleat mechanisms, seatpost clamps and derailleur springs. Off the bike it means squeaking hinges, seized padlocks, rusted bolts, motorcycle cables and anything in a workshop that has stopped moving freely.
In a coastal climate it earns its place quickly. Salt air seizes things – gate bolts, tool hinges, rack fittings – and a light film of MO-94 applied once stops the process before it starts.
The same limit applies as to any oil-based spray: keep it off tyre treads and braking surfaces. And it is not a chain lube – it lacks the film strength to survive inside a chain under load, so use a proper chain lube there.
